Parent Survey Information
Leander ISD is committed to building and sustaining strong partnerships between parents and campuses. Leander ISD está comprometido en construir una relación fuerte de cooperación entre los padres y las escuelas.
As part of our continuous improvement culture, each year, LISD administers a parent survey. El aporte reunido a través de esta encuesta es usado en todo el distrito para mejorar esfuerzos y le permite a LISD servir mejor a los estudiantes y sus familias.
The survey will be available online starting Friday, Feb. 5, 2016. The deadline for completing the survey is Monday, February 22. The online survey is available in both English and Spanish at: La encuesta estará disponible en nuestra página en internet comenzando el viernes 5 de febrero de 2016. Student Transfer Requests
for 2016-17 School Year
Due to projected enrollment size for the 2016-17 school year, this campus has been closed to NEW transfers, except for siblings of students who currently attend and who will attend this campus next year. Please be aware that if your student is not zoned to this campus or does not already attend this campus on an approved transfer, this campus is closed and will not be accepting any NEW transfer requests.
Please note that if your child(ren) attends this campus as a current transfer student, you will need to complete a transfer form for the 2016-17 school year by the deadline date (March 20, 2016), should you wish the student(s) to remain at the campus. Transfer requests are approved on an annual basis only, and they must be requested each school year.
All requests to transfer/remain as a transfer must be submitted by the priority deadline date (March 20, 2016) each year in order to be considered.
Please note that a non-refundable $30 processing fee was implemented beginning Sept. 1, 2011, for any student requesting a transfer, and this fee does not guarantee approval to the requested campus. When the student transfer submission window opens Feb. 15, 2016, please proceed to Leander ISD’s district website should you wish to submit a transfer request for your child. If you do not have access to a computer, please feel free to stop by the campus and use one of the campus computers. In February, LISD secondary campuses will join elementary campuses and begin using the RAPTOR Visitor Management System for their visitor check in process. The RAPTOR system reads visitor drivers’ licenses, compares information to all national sex offender databases and alerts campus administrators if a match is found. If no match is found, visitors will receive a printed visitor badge that includes their photo.
Every time a parent or community member visits a campus, he or she will need to show a valid government-issued identification to front office staff for RAPTOR verification. Visitors will be asked to use the visitor badge printed by the RAPTOR system to go beyond the school office. Visitors will also need to check out through the front office when they leave the campus.
In addition to enhancing current school security measures already in place at secondary campuses, the RAPTOR system will streamline campus day-to-day operations. It will replace the campus sign-in sheets and may assist with attendance management. The RAPTOR system adds another layer to school security, as it will provide a consistent system to track campus visitors, while alerting campus officials of visitors who may potentially pose a threat to students and staff members.
LISD is committed to student safety. The RAPTOR system is one piece of the district’s security measures and is already in use at LISD elementary campuses. Secondary campuses have security cameras in place and will now use RAPTOR based on recommendations from the district’s security assessment.
